Bear Creek Baptist Church
This is a historic photograph of the church three miles NW of present-day New Market, MO. James Fulkerson and his wife, Mary Miller Fulkerson, helped to establish this church in 1836.

Missouri Farm Land
This is a photograph of farm land three miles west of Marysville, Missouri that belonged to the Cain Family. James Ambrose Cain was a son-in-law of James Monroe Fulkerson. In the middle of these fields is the Cain Family Cemetery.

Castle Rock, Western Nebraska
I have included this photo as the image is relatively unchanged from what the Oregon Trail travelers would have seen 180 years ago.

Green River Valley, Wyoming
This is a photograph taken from on top of Names Hill. Some historians state that Mary Ramsey Miller Fulkerson was buried on the top; others state she was buried on the valley floor close by Names Hill.

Mt. Hood on the Horizon
As the Oregon Trail got closer to the Cascade Mountains, the pioneers began to see the peak of Mt. Hood, This photo was taken about 40 miles SE of the mountain. The crest of the the trail was just below this mountain.

Highway 26 Coming down from the crest of the Cascade Mountains
The crest of the mountain is ahead. At this point we are about six miles west from where the Barlow Road crested the mountain at about Government Camp.

Etna Baptist Church
This historical photo was taken shortly before the building was razed sometime in the 1930s.

Fulkerson Donation Land Claim
This photo is looking west from the location of the old Crowley train station and is of the western half of the Fulkerson DLC.

Etna Cemetery, Polk County OR
The grave closest to us is James Ambrose Cain, next is Catherine Crowley Fulkerson, next is James Monroe Fulkerson. James Cain's wife, Sarah Amanda Fulkerson's gravestone was knocked over.
